The crime in Detroit is significantly higher than in most major cities. The film Deforce shows the difficulties that have hit the community of Detroit. The crime rates in Detroit are significantly higher than the U.S. Average. The city has a major increase in drug related crimes due to the lack of jobs in the city. People in the inner city can make more money with drugs than anywhere else in the city. 318 soldiers were killed in Iraq while over 400 were killed in detroit in 2013. Of these murders over 65% were drug related. Despite all the crime, there is still progress in detroit. Crime rates have decreased in all categories except drug related crime in the past year. The city is also starting to increase the amount of businesses that operate in Detroit.
