9/11 was the turning point in the normal American way of thinking. The event was a realization, a wake up call from the lies of our total safety, that we are more vulnerable than we had originally thought. The perfect way of living that we were all so deeply involved in suddenly was dug up by a tragic event. If i had to say back then we shouldn't have had that way of thinking in the first place, but this is not the way to wake us up. To this day i have no idea what those terrorist had against us, or at least i don't know the true reason why they attacked us, but it's inexcusable. According to the movie "On native soil" the proof could have foreseen the event, but due to reactive in nature humans are, we only acted after the fact instead of making sure it couldn't happen in the first place. The fact that the families that were effected the most on 9/11 had to do a job that they hadn't signed up for to protect America and raise awareness of the fact there are people out to get us, looks really bad on homeland security and lost so much support all in one day. One could say that if they had been doing their job, or at least have made a public warning, this event could have been softened or prevented. One day We will learn to stop being so reactive and start being proactive so this will never happen again. Over the years we have been doing a good job, we will see how long we will keep this up before we start slipping.
